TEXTILE INDUSTRY
Modern textile treatments must obtain the desired effects in fibers by using processes that have a minimum environmental impact. For this purpose, it is important to foster enzyme use since they are biodegradable and environment friendly; they act over specific molecules and in soft conditions. In textile industry, enzymes may be applied to natural protein fiber treatment (wool and silk) as well as in cellulose fibers (cotton, linen and canvas) and synthetic fibers. Enzymes are used in the weaving, tainting and finishing stages, in order to clean the material surface and improve its softness. FOR MORE INFORMATION
